Singer Ckay listed as Time’s Next Generation Leader

Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage name Ckay, is the only Nigerian to reach Time’s Next Generation Leaders list for 2022.

On Thursday, the New York Times stated this on its official website.

The Time magazine’s Next Generation Leaders list honours young individuals from all walks of life who are “trying to build a better world.”

Ckay was named one of the most successful African recording artists of all time by Time magazine.

“If an artist makes something from his soul, people can tell, regardless of how fast or slow it is, or whether or not it matches trends,” Ckay stated in an interview with the magazine about one of his most hit songs, “Love Nwatiti.”

Later this year, the singer is slated to release his debut album.
