Balogun will take over as Chairman and CEO of Def Jam in August 2021, succeeding Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s manager.

Due to the label’s inability to sign new stars after Justin and Logic, Paul Rosenberg resigned in February 2021.

TeeBillz’s Professional Career.

Tunji Balogun co-founded Keep Cool, an RCA imprint, with Courtney Stewart of Right Hand Music Group, A&R Jon Tanners, and marketing executive Jared Sherman. Normani, UMI, Lucky Daye, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, as well as Nigerian sisters VanJess, are all signed to the label.

Over the last decade, Balogun has been instrumental in getting TDE and RCA to sign SZA, as well as Dreamville and Sony to sign Cozz, an American rapper of Nigerian descent.

Since becoming RCA’s boss, he’s slowly but steadily led an R&B resurgence with the signings of Bryson Tiller, GoldLink, Khalid, Wizkid, and H.E.R, with many more, such as Jayla Darden and Tems, still in the works.

He also contributed to the Black Panther soundtrack. Kendrick Lamar was introduced to Jorja Smith by him.
