Bandits may take over some states before 2023 – Prof. Abel

Joel Mudaiwa Abel, a former political adviser and country representative to Uganda, stated on Saturday that the general election of 2023 is far from realistic given the numerous crimes committed by Nigerians.

He claimed that some rebels and bandits might seize control of some states, making it difficult for the underprivileged masses to exercise their right to vote.

Mr. Prof. An ex-lecturer in the political science department noted that it is impossible for a nation that regularly experiences robberies, murders, theft of billions of Naira, kidnappings, and inflation to hold free and fair elections.

In 2015, he claimed, the country was slightly better because bandits were less frequent, but a president in office lost the election.

He previously stated that many Nigerians, particularly the poor masses, are sick of Nigerian politics and are unsure of who to vote for to free them from constant attacks and hunger.

He also asserts that even if there are elections, the ruling class will use all of its resources to rig the results in favour of the candidate of their choice.
