Princess Abigail Chinyere Amalaha, a publisher and a deserving journalist, has been chosen to lead United Towns Agency (UTA) in Nigeria.
The UTA is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) accredited by the United Nations (UN) and has consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Princess Amalaha was appointed following a difficult selection process that included interviews and background checks of her humanitarian work by the UTA Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, according to a statement by UTA Board Member Dr. Abubakar Jimoh.

Announcing the good news, UTA Secretary-General and award-winning Tunisian-born Eya Essif stated that the organization’s current operations are represented in 110 nations worldwide.
Amalaha’s first task is to establish a fully functional UTA office in Nigeria and launch operations on the implementation of various humanitarian projects and charity works of UN NGOs in the fields of human rights, irrigation systems, electricity supply, poverty alleviation, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the nation.
Amalaha referred to the decision to give her the coveted position as an act of God, an honour for Nigeria, and a significant challenge for her to demonstrate her mettle and Nigeria’s capacity to host the UTA and have the desired impact.

Since her appointment on March 18, 2022, the UTA management at the Geneva headquarters and the Secretary-General Eya Essif have provided her with the necessary support and encouragement, for which she expressed her sincere gratitude.
The president of UTA Country in Nigeria thanked her superiors for having faith in her.
