An announcement by Mr Bisi Kazeem, Corps Public Education Officer, stated that the corps had commenced massive mobilisation of its employees and operational gear for the vacations. He said that the installation of the equipment and personnel would ensure a safer street environment, before, during and following the festive period. He explained:

“The assignment of the exceptional performance will be to ensure free flow of traffic, provide immediate relief solutions and timely clearance of obstacles on all significant streets and crucial corridors throughout the nation prior to, during and following the festive period in addition to minimizing the incidence of road traffic crashes across the nation’s highways during successful patrol operations and sustained public enlightenment campaigns.

“FRSC includes a convention of constantly organising special patrols during festive periods as a means of preventing the turmoil which characterises the street during the parties, like this; this year’s Eid-el Fitr wouldn’t be an exemption.”He appealed to drivers to eschew traffic offences and stay aware of the security to prevent not only prosecution and arrest by members of the corps, but falling prey to avoidable road accidents.
