Gunmen assassinate the wife of Peter Odetomi, ex-commissioner in Oyo


Unknown gunmen assassinated the wife of Peter Odetomi, a former commissioner in Oyo State, on Friday morning.

It was stated that the woman was murdered at her family’s home in Ashi, Bodija, Ibadan.
Odetomi served in Abiola Ajimobi’s administration as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and later as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development.

He was also the Chairman of the Ogbomoso South Local Government Area in the past.

The gunmen stormed the area on a motorcycle, according to a resident of the area who confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Ibadan.

Attempts to contact the state’s police public relations officer, Adewale Osifeso, were unsuccessful because he did not answer his phone or respond to text messages sent to his cellphone.
