The producers of Big Brother Naija Season 6 have announced that the reality show’s grand prize of N90 million (£158,000) is the highest in the show’s history.

Additionally, they note that for the first time ever, the reality show will be streamed in the United Kingdom.

According to a press release signed by Jennifer Ochieng, the show will be available on African streaming service Showmax.

It notes that “for ten weeks, 20 housemates will compete for a grand prize of N90 million (£158,000),” adding that “the prize is the highest in the show’s history.”
Ochieng stated that the show will have a special double launch on Saturday, 24 July, and Sunday, 25 July 2021.

Candice Fangueiro, Showmax’s Head of Content, confirmed the development, saying: “Big Brother Naija has always had a sizable following outside of Nigeria and Africa in general.

“This year, we decided to make the massively popular show available to fans in the United Kingdom – whether they are members of the Nigerian diaspora or are simply fans of this addictive reality series format.”

Season 6 will once again be hosted by Season 1 contestant Ebuka Obi-Unchendu, who has done so since 2017.
