Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igboho: Babangida speaks about the agitation for Biafra and the Yoruba Nation

Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB

Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, a former military head of state, has stated that Nigerians do not believe in secession.

Nigerians, according to Babangida, believe the country should remain united because they value peace.

When asked about his thoughts on the Biafra and Yoruba nation agitation, the former Head of State spoke on Arise TV.

Nigerians, he said, are opposed to secession because they value their peace of mind.

“It is always good to agitate,” Babangida says, “but there is this belief that this country should be one.”

“When they make a fuss, they find that it is not well received because Nigerians generally do not believe in anything that disturbs their tranquility. They’re not going to do it.

“If you look back, if you take a place like Baga in the north-east, the Igbo, Yoruba man travelled up to Baga for trading, he lived very comfortably, he lived very well with the people around there,” says the author.

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has recently been at the forefront of the Biafra agitation, while Sunday Adeyemo, aka Igboho, has been advocating for Yoruba Nation.
