Tensions are rising in the Osun APC secretariat as the appeal committee meets for the first time

On Saturday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Osun State was tense as the Ward Congress Appeal Committee began hearing petitions.

On Friday, the National Secretariat’s Appeal Committee, chaired by Ambassador Obed Wadzain, vowed to be fair to all members of the party during the sittings.

Barr Femi Odufowokan, the committee’s secretary, said the committee received 32 petitions from ten wards.

“In Boripe, Odo-Otin, Ede North, Osogbo, Isokan, Ejigbo, Atakunmosa, Irewole, and Ifedayo, we received. We’re going to go to 31 because one of them is about party registration, which we’re not supposed to go to,” he hinted.
On Saturday morning, party members flocked to the secretariat to submit petitions.
Despite the presence of heavily armed security operatives, the agitators at the secretariat became unruly.

Ambassador Wadzain pleaded with them to have faith in the committee, assuring them of its impartiality.

“We’ve come to investigate the petition that has been submitted. We share a common ancestor. You’ve all contributed to the party’s growth, consolidation, and strengthening. We will not leave until we have completed all of the petitions you have brought.

“We want you to go home feeling confident that this party is yours and that the right thing will be done. This will not be done in a raucous atmosphere; we need you, the people, to calm down; otherwise, we will be unable to listen to your petition.

“We’ll invite you to our sittings one by one. We need to maintain our composure; we are all members of the same family, and we are not here to fight amongst ourselves.”
