In Tarabu village, Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, unknown gunmen killed a 45-year-old man Gambo Alhassan Maigini and kidnapped an eight-year-old boy, Khalifa Alhaji T Daguri.
According to a family source, the gunmen broke into Daguro’s residence on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and grabbed his 36-year-old wife and his eight-year-old son, Kalifa.
He claimed that the hoodlums in their midst exchanged fire with security personnel for at least 40 minutes before being overwhelmed.

ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, a police spokeswoman, verified the occurrence.
“Teams of police officers from Area Command Hadejia, Hadejia ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions were mobilised to the area, and when the hoodlums saw them, they engaged them in a gun duel,” he said.
He claimed that one Sadiya Alh T Mohd was rescued unharmed, while Kalifa was abducted.
Shiisu added that police were able to apprehend their driver, Malam Adamu of Lawandi Marma village, after he was shot in the legs by police during the firefight.
The hoodlums also shot and killed one Gambo Alhassan Magini, according to him.
A Honda CRV with the registration number PBT 900TB and two GSM handsets belonging to the hoodlums were also recovered, according to the police spokeswoman.
He stated that all efforts were being made to apprehend the fleeing criminals and save the other victim.
