APC has ran out of ideas for 2023, pro-Atiku group

According to the Amalgamated Atiku Support Group, the ruling All Progressives Congress has run out of ideas and should not be allowed to stay in power beyond 2023.

Mr. Oladimeji Fabiyi, the group’s National Coordinator, said this in Abuja on Friday in a statement headlined “2023: Atiku most equipped, experienced to rescue Nigeria from APC.”

He said that Nigerians were compelled to seek divine intervention because “leaders of the All Progressives Congress have run out of ideas, while Nigeria’s unity is now suffering its most serious crisis.”

The organization also said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was the best prepared among opposition Peoples Democratic Party candidates and was in the greatest position to dethrone the APC in 2023.
In reaction, Abdullahi Jalo, an APC leader, said, “It is regrettable that this group, instead of dealing with the issue in the PDP, is attempting to pull our party into it.” The APC has performed and will continue to perform; Nigerians will vote for us again and again.”

The organization also criticized a recent remark attributed to a pro-PDP group, PDP Agenda 2023, in which the party was encouraged not to “waste” its Presidential ticket on Atiku since he was elderly and unpopular among Nigerians.
“This anti-Atiku organization is unaware of the mechanics of our politics and recent election trends,” Fabiyi added. Atiku is the best-prepared and most experienced political contender in Nigeria to take on the APC.

“The architects of the anti-Atiku campaign should not have brought up the age problem if they understood what they were talking about. President Joe Biden is 78 years old, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi is 81 years old, and she is one of the most powerful and effective legislators ever elected in the United States.”
He emphasized that Nigerians are presently living in their worst economic nightmare; insecurity is worsening as schools are shuttered due to continuous bandit assaults; and food costs are so high that survival is becoming a major problem for most ordinary Nigerians.

Nigeria, he said, would need a guy with Atiku’s compassion and political acumen to pull her out of the woods.
