The Nigerian basketball teams’ exclusion from all international competitions was reversed by the Federal Government on Thursday.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development’s Permanent Secretary, Ismaila Abubakar, announced this at a conference on Thursday in Abuja, according to Channels Tv.
The most recent decision, in Abubakar’s opinion, was supported by a letter of appeal from the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), which was signed by Mr. Musa Kida.
The decision, according to him, was brought about by concerned stakeholders’, former Nigerian international basketball players’, and well-meaning Nigerians’ efforts to find solutions to the problems.

According to the report, Nigeria’s withdrawal from all international basketball competitions was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in May.
The suspension will last for two years, according to Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, who confirmed the news.
He had claimed that the change would enable the government to focus on initiatives to revitalise the sport.
