Liverpool Confirm Carvalho Signing From Fulham

Liverpool have completed the signing of Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho.

The striker has left Craven Cottage after his contract expired. The Athletic reported earlier this year that Liverpool had agreed to pay £5 million plus add-ons to bring him to Anfield this summer.

Carvalho will join Liverpool for £5 million on July 1, with a further £2.7 million in add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause.
While his contract with Fulham had expired, he could have joined a team overseas for free, clubs in England had to pay a tribunal fee or agree to a transfer with Fulham. The latter was accomplished by Liverpool.

Liverpool has also agreed to a 20% sell-on fee and an additional £2.7 million in add-ons as part of the deal.
During the January transfer window, the Merseyside club pushed hard to sign the attacking midfielder. On deadline day, a deal appeared to be close, but the 19-year-old was forced to stay in west London after the deadline passed.

After keeping in touch after January, the two clubs came to an agreement in April.

Carvalho finished the season with Fulham and contributed to their Championship victory. He will now join Liverpool for pre-season training.
